About the painting:
I have been blessed to be in the Chattanooga Girls Choir for many years, enjoying each moment of it, and always looking forward to the weekly rehearsals. I was in Chattanooga Girls Choir the year Mrs. LaBarr composed Hope is the Thing with Feathers for the choirs 25th Anniversary. It has been my favorite song ever since. The way she composed the music to compliment and reflect the lyrics is one of my favorite things about this piece.
'Hope' is very important to me, because it shows me how to move forward, never to stay stuck in one place. I chose to make a painting inspired by this song because of the beauty of the lyrics. I felt like it needed to be illustrated, to remind people to never loose sight of hope.
